Using a taxi with a “Bon de Transport” in France is very easy and a fantastic service provided by the “Social Security”. Once your doctor or hospital have given you a “Bon de Transport” otherwise known as a “Prescription medical de transport” you will be able to order your taxi.
You need to make sure your taxi is a taxi “Conventionne”, which you can do simply by asking the taxi firm if they are registered! they should display a sticker in the rear right window of the vehicle with the registration number of the vehicle displayed below if they are registered.
If you are 100% covered you won’t have to pay anything to the driver, just give them the “Bon de Transport” Volet 1 and 2 and that’s it. The driver will normally ask you for a copy of your Carte Vital swell and possibly your ID.
Chamonixcabs are a registered taxi service providing medical transport. For any type of medical transport we are available all year round 24 hours a day. Although we are based in Chamonix we travel all over the Haute Savoie region and in fact anywhere in France. For further information please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Now that Chamonix is open for skiing you might be looking for an easy way of getting to the slopes. We have a dedicated vehicle (normally more than 1) servicing the valley for groups and individuals that dont want to stand in line for the bus or who require a lift home after an extended “Apres Ski”……
If you a looking for an Uber taxi in Chamonix then, sorry, it doesn’t exist in Chamonix but………… you can download the Chamonixcabs Application on Apple or Android to order your Cab in just the same way.
The Chamonixcabs App is in English, it tells you where you are, or, you can choose an address.
You can pay by either Credit Card in advance or Cash in the vehicle AND it tells you how much it will cost BEFORE you book so that there are no hidden surprises.
So, if you are planning a trip to Chamonix and want to use Taxis to get around then please dont hesitate to use our App.
The latest snow forecast for the Alps is looking very good!
If you have not already booked your airport transfer now might be a good time. Â An early dump of snow followed by cold weather is the perfect start to the season and means that Xmas and New Year is more likely to be “Snow Sure”.
We will of course be following this and reporting as soon as we see the white stuff falling out of the sky.
Sometimes (often) its difficult to find a Taxi in Chamonix, especially in the evening when you would rightly expect to find at least one sitting in the taxi rank outside the train station.
The best way to prepare for an evening out in Chamonix is to pre-book your taxi, this means that your driver will be exactly where you request at exactly the time you request with the appropriate vehicle for the number of people that are in your group.
At Chamonixcabs we operate with a number of vehicles including our Nissan Leaf 100% electric vehicle that allows us to move people around the valley with ZERO EMISSIONS.
Chamonix cabs are the first and (so far) the only Taxi/Transfer company in the area offering an “Eco” service with 100% electric cars.Â
Summer in Chamonix is about to kick off with the “fete de la musique” and then the Mont-Blanc Marathon followed by a constant stream of events right through until the end of September.
During the summer we are available non stop for in-Valley “Taxi” services. Â We have a large selection of vehicles available from Eco electric cars right through to luxury Mercedes vehicles, we can move any number of people and cover any distance short and long.
Its a project that has taken quite a lot of time getting off the ground for many reasons, the most recent being “Nissan” taking 2 months to transport a vehicle 500 Km’s!
After discussions with many people in Chamonix from our regular clients and hotels right through to the Chamonix tourist office and Marie we are finally up and running.
The Idea is very simple, provide a taxi/cab service in the Chamonix Valley (and beyond if possible) with a 100% electric vehicle. Â The benefits are two fold, firstly we will be moving people without producing any local pollution at all (which in Chamonix is desperately needed) and secondly we are actively promoting the use of electric vehicles in the Chamonix valley.
On this second note, if anyone reading this (anyone?) is interested in finding out more about electric vehicles you are more than welcome to contact us and come have a look, drive etc with a view to potentially increasing the number of these cars on the road.
