Medical Taxi transport in Chamonix

Using a taxi with a “Bon de Transport” in France is very easy and a fantastic service provided by the “Social Security”. Once your doctor or hospital have given you a “Bon de Transport” otherwise known as a “Prescription medical de transport” you will be able to order your taxi.

You need to make sure your taxi is a taxi “Conventionne”, which you can do simply by asking the taxi firm if they are registered! they should display a sticker in the rear right window of the vehicle with the registration number of the vehicle displayed below if they are registered.

If you are 100% covered you won’t have to pay anything to the driver, just give them the “Bon de Transport” Volet 1 and 2 and that’s it. The driver will normally ask you for a copy of your Carte Vital swell and possibly your ID.

Chamonixcabs are a registered taxi service providing medical transport. For any type of medical transport we are available all year round 24 hours a day. Although we are based in Chamonix we travel all over the Haute Savoie region and in fact anywhere in France. For further information please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Chamonix airport transfers

The frosty mornings have returned all too quickly and we are looking at the beginning of another winter! 2018/19.  I really can’t believe how quickly summer went.

Please don’t forget to book your Geneva airport transfer as soon as you book your flights and accommodation to avoid any disappointment, and of course always book with a reputable firm.  There are many dodgy transport operators out there that shouldn’t be working.

First day of the Chamonix ski season.

Chamonix opening day 19th Novemebr 2016!

Its been quite a few years since Chamonix has been able to open for skiing during the month of November, however, thats exactly what happened today, 19th Novemebr 2016.

Not only did Grand Montets open but the conditions were exceptional.  Chamonix valley has had a number of storms blow through over the last couple of weeks and all have been providing snow above the valley floor, and sometimes down to 300m altitude.

There has never been a better time to think about coming out to the Alps for an early ski before the Xmas madness begins.

Chamonix Taxi

Sometimes (often) its difficult to find a Taxi in Chamonix, especially in the evening when you would rightly expect to find at least one sitting in the taxi rank outside the train station.

The best way to prepare for an evening out in Chamonix is to pre-book your taxi, this means that your driver will be exactly where you request at exactly the time you request with the appropriate vehicle for the number of people that are in your group.

At Chamonixcabs we operate with a number of vehicles including our Nissan Leaf 100% electric vehicle that allows us to move people around the valley with ZERO EMISSIONS.

Snow coming at last to Chamonix

The latest forecast from www.snow-forecast.com is looking very promising for the Alps!  If the snow arrives as anounced we could be getting up to 50cm of snow at Chamonix town level (1000m).  Temperatures are also meant to drop to around -15, bring your thermals!

We will of course be reporting as soon as this happens.
